Radio Broadcasts
Saucy has been entertaining on the radio for over 50 years. Most of her broadcasts were live and showcased various talented musicians from all over the world. The latest radio broadcasts were aired on Newport's own W.A.D.K.. Luckily, Mike decided to start taping the programs in the late 70s. The Radio Clips presented from W.L.W. are from "Broadcast Masters" which were first released by Columbia Records in 1929 for the purpose of releasing syndicated radio product . They were pressed in 16" platters at 78RPM. The longer shows were pressed at 33 and 1/3. Mike found the masters in a box in the basement. Chuck had the pleasure of meeting the president of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame who graciously volunteered to have the platters cleaned and transcribed on CD. We will continue to update this section with various radio clips and who knows, you may remember when you were in our audience!
